There are many ways to help Putnam Humane Society.
DONATE
The dogs and cats at the Putnam Humane Society rely on your generosity for food, shelter and veterinary care. These animals often come to us starving and ill, neglected or abused. You make it possible for us to help them heal and find a new beginning in a loving home.
VOLUNTEER!
We rely on help from many people to take care of our friends here at PCHS. Below you will find some of the things they are doing to help. Make some time and volunteer at the shelter. We need your help!
HELP SPECIAL PROGRAMS
Please consider donating to one of our programs! We need your help! From helping dogs or cats that have been abandoned due to health issues (Times of Trouble), to helping dogs be the best they can be (PHS Training Program), donating in the memory of your own beloved person or pet, sponsoring a treat night for our dogs, or even donating to the PHS as your wedding favor in honor of your guests…
FOOD PANTRY
If you know of anyone who has fallen on hard times and is having a hard time buying food for their pets, we can help by giving them dog and cat food PHS cannot use.
WISH LIST
Perhaps if you are out grocery shopping, buying your own pet supplies, or running errands for your business, please consider putting an extra one or 2 of the items in your cart for us! Anything helps!

PHS is dedicated to nurturing and protecting the animals in our care while they await adoption. We are committed to providing these animals with the patience, confidence, discipline, nutrition, medical treatment, and socialization they may require until they can be adopted into responsible homes.

PHS is a NO KILL SHELTER – meaning, we do not euthanize for space limitations. We provide euthanasia for terminally ill and seriously injured animals to end their suffering when reasonable courses of treatment have been exhausted. We consider humane euthanasia in the animal’s best interest – if an animal is behaviorally or mentally tormented to the degree that they will not allow any human contact or interaction and only after every effort has been exhausted to modify the behavior issues of the animal.
